Healthier Communities
Stronger India
The Public Swasthya Mitra Medicine Council (PSMMC) works to develop a trained and responsible community-level health support network across India.
Through our various training institutes and associated centres, we provide structured, NSQF Level-based training under the guidance and supervision of Healthcare Professionals to eligible young men and women. Our programmes are designed to develop practical knowledge, health awareness, community-support skills and a responsible approach towards public health.
Community Awareness.

Brighter Tomorrow.
Connecting people with reliable health information and appropriate professional care.
The Swasthya
Mitra Network
A key focus of our work is to develop a growing network of trained “Swasthya Mitras” (Health Support Volunteers) who can remain connected with their respective communities.
Swasthya Mitras are trained to support people through health awareness, preventive health information, basic first-aid awareness, healthy lifestyle and hygiene awareness, and guidance on accessing appropriate healthcare services.
They can also help community members understand when professional medical attention may be required and facilitate their connection with registered medical practitioners, qualified healthcare professionals and appropriate healthcare facilities.
Our approach is community-oriented. By developing trained human resources at the local level, we seek to extend health-awareness and support activities to urban, rural, remote and underserved communities.
The Swasthya Mitra Network is intended to function as a supportive link between communities and the formal healthcare system—helping people receive reliable information and encouraging timely access to appropriate professional healthcare.
We believe that meaningful training should go beyond classroom learning.
Our programmes aim to develop knowledge, practical skills, discipline, responsibility, compassion and a spirit of community service among learners.
Through continuous learning and community engagement, trained Swasthya Mitras can contribute to creating greater awareness and better health-seeking practices within their communities.
Train → Empower →
Connect → Support
Through this approach, PSMMC seeks to build a network of trained individuals who can contribute responsibly to community health awareness and support while working within the scope of their training and applicable laws and professional boundaries.
